Thanks to numerous different streaming services, there are now ways to watch many of our residents’ favorite classic shows. Here are some top selections that residents enjoy at our Verona independent living facility.
#1 Our Senior Living Community in Verona Loves “I Love Lucy” (1951-1957)
One of the most famous TV shows of all time, I Love Lucy features Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. This couple was not only married on the black and white screen but were also partners when the cameras were off. This show is well known for its endless laughs and wholesome comedy content. One of the most famous episodes in the series is when Lucille and her best friend Ethel try their luck working at a chocolate factory. It ends up being a lot more challenging than they could have ever anticipated. This is a favorite among residents at our senior living community in Verona.
I Love Lucy is currently available on Amazon Prime, Hulu, Paramount+, or can be purchased on DVD.
#2 Verona senior living community recommends “Leave it to Beaver” to Provide Some Comedy Relief (1957-1963)
Many residents at our Verona senior living community grew up with the Cleaver family. The main character, Theodore “Beaver” Cleaver, is played by Jerry Mathers, who always seemed to have questions about everything that life entailed. The show followed Beaver’s life through school, home, and throughout his adventures in his suburban neighborhood. Leave it to Beaver was famous for teaching life lessons in a comedic way.
Leave it to Beaver can be found on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Peacock, Roku, or can be purchased on DVD.
#3 Take a 3-Hour Tour to “Gilligan’s Island” (1964-1967)
Although this comedy series only lasted three seasons, Gilligan’s Island gained immense popularity while in syndication. The comedy is based on a group of seven castaways that were somehow grouped together on a ship that wrecked and ended up on a desert island. The group must work together to survive the elements but also each other’s antics. Many episodes center around conflicts between the seven individuals and their failed (but humorous) attempts to leave the island. This classic comedy is a popular choice among residents at our Verona retirement living community.
You can find episodes of Gilligan’s Island on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Google Play, Vudu, YouTube TV, or can be purchased on DVD.
